Design

The existing design was very tired and very 80’s in style. The clients wanted a complete redesign suitable for two growing sports mad teenage boys. Therefore I looked at hardwearing clean lined, straightforward products. The room, due to it’s large size allowed us a separate bath and shower area. Due to the son’s keenness on sport I used the theme of a rugby changing room and wellness centre as my inspiration. The clients really appreciated the large level access wetroom space, enabling the boys to throw their kit on the floor and walk straight in to a heated shower area. For the harder game where it was necessary to soak the muscles the boys could use the deep and luxurious 170mm x 80mm double ended bath. The Hansgrohe wall mounted thermostat made the bath easy to run and control. We used the cost effective Bisque Deline radiator in it’s largest format – 1800mm x 600mm to allow for the maximum number of towels. For the designer sleek look, we specified it in silver effect.

We utilised the internal space of the adjacent airing cupboard to create large and stylish recess boxes at the entrance of the room. These act as valuable storage space for spare towels and washing products.
We selected the Dansani Mido basin for it’s large format, again to allow the rugby players to splash about. With underfloor heating throughout and beautiful Porcelenosa large format tiles on the wall and floor myself and the clients were delighted with the finished outcome. Sleek but resistant.
